For four more days, your donation to The Crisis Center Food Bank will be DOUBLED by a generous matching program through the University of Iowa Community Credit Union.
UI Community Credit Union will match donations dollar for dollar until Friday, December 16, up to $10,000. This generous matching-contribution campaign is part of UICCU’s Give and Grow program
We are already 3/4 of the way there. Help us maximize UICCU’s gift. Donate now.
Jean Knepper, UICCU’s director of community relations, said the credit union is making gifts to pantries in several of the communities it serves.
“Because our home business is here in Johnson County, we are making a special matching program through The Crisis Center. We have made donations in the past to The Crisis Center, but this is probably one of the largest donations we’ve given to the Food Bank,” Knepper said.
This comes at a crucial time for The Crisis Center Food Bank and our clients—December accounts for two-thirds of The Crisis Center’s annual donations, so donations this month support the Food Bank’s services throughout the year.
As you may know, visits to The Crisis Center increase during the winter months as families encounter extra expenses related to cold weather and children being home from school for winter break. Visits to the Food Bank are already near record-highs at more than 1,000 visits each week.
Donate now and double your donation’s impact to help local families in need this winter.
