Still thinking about joining us at the 3rd Annual Hunger Banquet presented by Collins Community Credit Union?
What happens if I don’t receive a meal?
About 14% of guests will not receive a meal. Last year, however, many guests who did receive a meal shared it with their neighbors. No matter what you are served, we ask you to reflect on what it might feel like to actually go to bed at night without a meal.
What happens after dinner?
After dinner is served, we’re excited to share a video produced by Flow Media featuring CommUnity clients, donors, and staff speaking about the impact CommUnity Food Bank has made on their lives. We will have an interactive simulation that you can participate in right from your table. Special guests will share information throughout the evening about how you can get involved.
Where will I sit?
Please indicate who you would like to be seated near in your registration information and we will seat you accordingly. If you have no preference, we will be happy to seat you at a table hosted by a CommUnity staff or board member.
Where will the proceeds go?
All proceeds from the Hunger Banquet will go to CommUnity Food Bank, which supports Johnson County residents with the supplemental groceries they need to meet their families’ needs.
Last year, because of private donations from both community members and our sponsors, the Hunger Banquet raised more than $50,000 for the Food Bank—enough to keep the program running for about 20 weeks, serving 1000 families each week.
