CommUnity Food Pantry at Pepperwood Plaza

The Food Bank at Pepperwood Plaza provides produce, bakery, deli, dairy, health, baby, hygiene and non-perishable items. Residents of Johnson County, IA can receive grocery assistance once per week. Clients may choose their own items with some limits based on family size. Pre-made bags are available for individuals who prefer not to shop.

Shopping at the Food Bank is completely free and confidential.

First-Time Visit Information

Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to closing so we can gather family information in a 15-20 minute first-time client interview.

We will ask you for your address and the names, birth dates, income, and received benefits* of everyone who lives with you. (*This information does NOT impact the amount or kind of food you will receive.)

After your first visit, you will only need to give us your name to receive assistance during future visits.

Food Delivery Request Form

Community Food Bank delivers groceries Tuesday through Friday for those receiving a delivery in Iowa City, Hills, or Lone Tree. Delivery requests made before noon will be delivered the next day of operation. Requests made after noon will be delivered 2 days of operation after the initial request. We require 1–2 business days to prepare your order and same day delivery is not currently available. Please call 319-519-6165 for all delivery questions.

Project Holiday Delivery

Project Holiday provides all the groceries necessary to cook a holiday meal. Each household will receive a meat or vegetarian entree and ingredients for side dishes. 

To order a Project Holiday meal bag for delivery, please fill out the form below. Delivery will take place between December 16 – 21, 2024. Meals will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. No registration is necessary for in-person pick up at CommUnity Food Bank.
