Residents of Johnson County, IA can receive grocery assistance once per week. Clients may choose their own items, with some limits based on family size. Pre-made bags are available for clients who prefer not to shop.
First-Time Visit Information
Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to closing so we can gather family information in a 15-20 minute first-time client interview.
We will ask you for your address, names and birth dates of everyone who lives with you, and income and benefits* received by everyone who lives with you. (*This information is required by some of our funders and does NOT change the amount or kind of food you will receive.)
After your first visit, you will only need to give us your name to receive assistance.
CommUnity Food Bank will make every effort to be open during normal hours in all weather conditions. We may have to provide bagged food if severe weather makes it impossible for enough staff and volunteers to come in. We will close the Food Bank and stop our services only when staff cannot safely make it to the Food Bank. Closures will be listed online and on KCRG. You can also call 319-351-0128 to find out our services during bad weather.
