Taking Care of Mental Health During Pride Month

Pride Month is all about celebrating love, identity, and community. But it’s also a great time to check in on our mental health and remind each other that support is always available. CommUnity answers the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline chats and texts here in Iowa, offering a listening ear and resources to anyone who needs them. We are also so proud to be one of a handful of organizations nationwide to answer the 988 LGBTQ+ line, which can be reached by texting or dialing 988+3.

Life can be stressful, and everyone faces challenges. For many in the LGBTQ+ community, things like feeling misunderstood or dealing with life’s ups and downs can take a toll. That’s why it’s so important to have safe spaces and people to talk to. No one should ever feel like they have to go through hard times alone.

If you ever need a listening ear, our team is here 24/7/365. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or just need a little extra support, you can call or text 988 for free, confidential help. You don’t have to be in crisis to reach out—we’re always here to listen to situations big, small, medium, and anything in between.

A little kindness goes a long way. This Pride Month, let’s make an effort to check in on friends, be there for each other, and spread positivity. Mental well-being is something we all deserve, and simple things like a kind word or a listening ear can make a big difference.

If you ever need support, don’t hesitate to reach out. You’re never alone, and we’re here for you—this month and every month.
