35 Years of Project Holiday!
Nearly 1,500 Johnson County families will enjoy holiday meals this December thanks to your generosity and the support of our sponsor, MidWestOne Bank.
CommUnity’s annual Project Holiday meal distribution will take place December 12 – 17 at the Pepperwood Plaza Food Pantry. Families will receive all of the essential groceries to make their own home-cooked holiday meals. This year’s available entrées include a whole turkey or meatless “turkey” loaf.
The need for food in our community continues to grow and so do the prices at the supermarket. Each $30 donation will purchase a complete holiday meal for a local family in need.
Make a secure donation online, or find a Project Holiday tag at participating locations and mail to CommUnity at 1121 S. Gilbert Ct, Iowa City, IA 52240. Donations will be accepted through December 31, 2022.
CommUnity is looking for volunteers to help with Project Holiday meal distribution! A wide range of volunteer opportunities is available. Duties range from stocking shelves to helping clients carry grocery bags to their cars, and making deliveries throughout Johnson County.
Project Holiday is a great group or family volunteer opportunity. Children under the age of 16 must have adult supervision.
We love repeat volunteers, but for Project Holiday we ask that you limit the number of shifts you sign up for, and allow others the opportunity to volunteer.
