Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and you know what that means….boxes of chocolates, roses, and romance! While we usually tend to think of more romantic things during this time, our food bank focuses on more of a nutty source of love…peanut butter. But how does peanut butter have anything to do with love or Valentine’s Day?
Let’s start with the meaning of this special day. While this holiday celebrates the history of Saint Valentine, there is a lot more to it than that. Valentine’s Day is a reminder that acts of kindness contribute to human connection. It’s a day to reflect on the power of love and its ability to transform lives. It reminds us just how much of an impact we can have on one another. If you feel like doing something different this year, host a food drive or donate to the food bank.
Every February, CommUnity hosts a fundraiser called Spread the Love during the month of February focusing on jelly and nut butter donations. By supporting Spread the Love, you provide our neighbors with a fantastic source of protein, a full belly, and the power of human connection.
